Will TikTok be banned in the US?

The debate is happening many places worldwide and I just came across this article explaining why this is happening: https://www.nytimes.com/article/tiktok-ban.html

Many regulators in the West have growing concerns about TikTok and its use of sensitive user data and, in particular, the relationship with the Chinese government. Apparently, the CEO of TikTok, Shou Zi Chew, is defending the company at a congressional hearing in the US this week. The hearing involves the allegations about TikTok’s close relationship with the Chinese government but also more general concerns about mental health issues related to younger users: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/mar/23/tiktok-shou-zi-chew-congress

In many countries, including some states in the US, government officials are no longer allowed to use TikTok or even have the app downloaded on their devices.

It will be interesting to see what happens after the hearing, and if the US Congress will actually ban TikTok nationwide. Can the Congress even do that? What about freedom of speech and expression?
