Some of the topics covered included topics we have mentioned – the Eliza effect of emotionally bonding with machines, the intellectual property problem, and some human tasks (and jobs) that may be substituted by AI Chatbots.
As my paper is on disinformation, I quite enjoyed their focus on the problem of misinformation AI Chatbots create when people begin to replace search engines with AI Chatbots. Because AI usually provides you with one convincing answer when prompted a question, unlike a google search that would provide a vast array of information. It will create an environment where people would find it harder to look at a variety of sources. Chatbots can also hallucinate, and be convincingly wrong, increasing the risk of misinformation.
